The Odisha government has launched the Subhadra Yojana for women between 21 and 60 years of age. Under this scheme women will be given Rs 10000 every year. During the state elections the BJP had promised women empowerment and financial assistance which the Chief Minister is now fulfilling through the Subhadra Yojana on Prime Minister Modi’s birthday.

Under this scheme the state government will provide financial assistance to women for the next five years Rs 5000 will be given twice every year and a total of Rs 50000 will be given to the beneficiary women in five years. The benefit of Subhadra Yojana will be available only to the women of Odisha state.

The state government will give women the benefit of this scheme from 2024 to 2029 for which a total budget of Rs 55825 crore has been allocated. Recently the state government has sent Rs 1 to the bank account of the applicant women for DBT verification due to which this scheme has been implemented in the whole state and the women whose application has been accepted will be given the first installment of Subhadra Yojana on 17th September.

• The female applicant must be a resident of the state of Odisha.
• The age of the candidate must be more than twenty-one but less than sixty.
• The female applicant must be protected by the State Food Security Scheme (SFSS) or National Food Security Act (NFSA).
• If the income of the applicant’s family is less than Rs 2.5 lakh then she can enroll under any Subhadra program without an NFSA or SFSS card.
• The last date for calculating a person’s age is the date of birth listed on their Aadhaar card.
• The woman who has an Aadhaar card and mobile number must have both linked.
• The applicant must have a bank account and ensure that DBT is enabled in the account.
• The woman’s family members shouldn’t pay income tax.
• The woman’s family should not own more than ten acres of non-irrigated land and more than five acres of irrigated land.
• Women employed by ASHA Anganwadi community service providers and master bookkeepers are eligible for this program; however other women receiving pension after retirement will not be eligible.
• If women receive more than Rs 1500 per month or Rs 18000 per year from any state or central government program then they will not be eligible for this scheme.
